British Orthodox Church of Christ the Saviour in Bournemouth on Bright Saturday.

British Orthodox Church of Christ the Saviour in Bournemouth on Bright Saturday.

We started the Service with the raising of Incence (Matins) and reading of Psalm 151 which recounts David's victory over Goliathh.

This is traditionally followed by the reading of the Book of Revelations.

Throughout the reading of the first part of this 7 candles are lit corresponding to the 7 Churches and incense is offered by the Priest.

After this the Service is ended and the Priest and Deacons will prepare the Church for Holy Pascha. A general fast is kept all day due to the night time communion and also preparation for the Lord's Resurrection.
The Service usually asks from around 10:00am - 3pm.
